Lenora Shillinglaw McSwain, 97, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center, Pineville.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Will Cofield, Rev. Ray Talley, and Rev. Wallace Tinsley officiating. Burial will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Blacksburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York.
Lenora was the daughter of the late H.M. Shillinglaw and Elizabeth Orman Shillinglaw. She was retired from Celanese and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was the widow of Paul M. McSwain.
Lenora is survived by her children, Christine Stephenson (Brice), Barbara Clinton, Billy McSwain (Susie), Eric Elliott (Darlene), thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Lenora was preceded in death by her siblings, George Shillinglaw, Tracy Shillinglaw, Alfonso Shillinglaw, Algernon Shillinglaw, Preston Shillinglaw, Andral Shillinglaw, Frances Locke, Ola Mae Starnes, Martha Wood, and son in law Dean Clinton.
