YORK – Kenneth Wayne Peterson, 77, of York, SC, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Barry Looper officiating.
Kenneth was born on March 1, 1942. He was the son of the late John Peterson and Bessie Ricketts Peterson. He was self-made and self-reliant. He believed in hard work and perseverance, and that nothing worth having would ever be handed to you. He liked to spend his time doing the things he loved. You could usually find him working in his garden, fishing, or out in his shop building and repairing whatever he could find. He could truly turn rags into riches. He was a man of strong faith, and had a heart full of love for his family and The Lord. He was nothing short of a fighter, and he faithfully lived his values until the very end. He passed away a very loved and well respected man.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Margaret Robinson Peterson, sons, Kenny Peterson (Leeann), Mike Peterson (Lynn), Doug Peterson (Kandi), grandchildren; Stephanie Peterson, Matthew Peterson, Blake Peterson (Amber), Logan Peterson, Marion Peterson (Kristi), Ryan Kearney, Erin Kearney, Sarah Smith, Luke Peterson, great grandchildren; Grayson Sutton, Bailey Sutton, Colt Peterson, and special cousin, Cindy Hollis.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Peterson, Darvin Peterson, Lloyd Peterson, David Peterson, George Peterson, Willie Peterson, Ralph Peterson, and sisters, Marie Haney and Dot Nichols.
