YORK -- JW Ramsey, 88, of York passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in York with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Bratton Funeral Home from 6 - 8 PM.
JW was a son of the late Samuel R. Ramsey and Mildred Lee Pursley Ramsey. He was the widower of Mary Barnwell Ramsey, and a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, elder and a member of the Men's Bible Class. He retired as a manager at Cannon Mills, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by a son Barnwell "Barney" S. Ramsey and wife Vicki Plyler Ramsey of Huntersville, NC, and granddaughters, Lauren Ramsey Abreu and husband Javier and Jordan Allison Ramsey.
