YORK – Mrs. June Elizabeth Brown Tucker, formerly of Crewe, VA departed this life on December 8, 2012 at Agape Assisted Living in York. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in York with the Rev. Charles Aurand officiating. Born October 18, 1917 in Roanoke, VA, June was raised in the Lutheran Children’s Home of the South in Salem, VA. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, A.F. (Pete) Tucker. They raised their family in Crewe, VA where she was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Jim Tucker and wife, Barbara, of Fernandina Beach, FL, a daughter, Cindy Tucker Jones, and her husband, Wheeler, of Lexington, SC; four grandchildren, Pete Tucker of The Big Island, Hawaii, Wes Ingram of Irmo, SC, Jennifer Jones Hill of York, SC, and Rebecca Jones of Lexington, SC; three great grandchildren, Walker, Chandler, and Kinley Kate Ingram of Irmo, SC. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Agape Hospice and Agape Assisted Living for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 323 N Congress Street, York, SC 29745.
