Julia Buddenbaum
CLOVER – Julia Victoria Herring Buddenbaum, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at First Wesleyan Church in York with Rev. Forbis Kivett and Rev. Rick Hudgens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM on Saturday at First Wesleyan Church.
Julia was born November 18, 1928 to the late Ralph Herring and Myrtle Sanders Herring. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church in York, and was a lifelong servant of the Wesleyan Church and its ministries. Julia also led the Ladies Bible Study Group at Beersheba Presbyterian Church in York, SC.
She is survived by her son G. Karl and Gayle S. Buddenbaum of Harrisburg, NC, daughter Ruth B. and David S. Hubner, Sr. of Midway, GA, two sisters, Edna Ruth H. Williams and Virginia “Coonie” H. Kayler both of Gastonia, NC, and four grandchildren; Cori B. and Zach Howell, J. Casey and Sarah Buddenbaum, 1LT David Scott Hubner, Jr., US Army and 2LT Matthew K. Hubner, USMC. In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert “Gil” Karl Buddenbaum, Sr., and her siblings; Jessie H. Allen, Genevieve H. Johnson, David Whitfield Herring, and Olivia “Libby” H. Kayler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 1830 Hwy 5, York, SC 29745, or to United Wesleyan Church, 2601 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28269.
