YORK -- Joseph J. Harvey, 90, of 208 Woodlawn Drive passed away Friday, September 12, 2014, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church York with Rev. Trey Doyle officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York.
Joseph was a son of the late William Roy Harvey and Lucy Faris Harvey. He was a member of First Baptist Church and he retired from Celanese. He was at one time Captain of the York Rescue Squad and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Forces.
He is survived by wife Geneva Jenkins Harvey of York, SC, four sons, Pat Harvey of York, SC, Craig Harvey of Richmond, VA, Marty Harvey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mike Harvey of York, SC, 3 grandchildren, Holly Heddleson, Melissa Harvey, Jessica Dorsett and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother William Harvey, and his sister Sadie Christenbury.
