John Stapleton
ROCK HILL -- John Eugene Stapleton, 65, of Rock Hill died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at the home of daughter Nicole Lambert, 5212 Norway Lane, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
John was a son of the late Eugene and Doris Asmussen Stapleton. He was a retired First Sgt. with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by children, Joey Stapleton of Duncan, SC, April Medina (Frank) of Taos, NM, Brandi Brown (Adam) of Sparta, WI, Lynn Hammond (Brian) of Rock Hill, SC, Nicole Lambert (James) of Rock Hill, SC, wife Michelle Stapleton of Altamonte Springs, FL, six grandchildren, Maggie, Alena, Brycen, Elijah, Jordan, and Haley, brother Bobby Stapleton, and sister Wanda Watts. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Wilcox and Sybil Meadows.
