John Jones

John Miller Jones, 93, of 103 Wilson Ave, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Carolina Gardens in York.
The funeral will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Filbert Presbyterian Church in York with Rev. Wallace Tinsley and Rev. Dave Hall officiating. The burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 2 – 3 PM at Filbert Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Born May 16, 1923, John was a son of the late Banks R. Jones and Florence Kirby Jones. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII. After serving his country, John and his wife Melba moved to Charlotte, later returning to York after his retirement. John will be remembered for his loving smile and kind heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melba Glenn Jones, sons, Ronnie Jones of York, Wayne Jones (Susan) of York, daughters, Jeanie Brazzell (Kenny) of Rock Hill, Susan Honeycutt (Reggie) of Locust, NC, daughter in law, Anne Jones of York, sister, Ethel J. Harper of Clinton, SC, grandchildren, Glenn Jones, Chris Jones (Valerie), Kenny Brazzell Jr. (Lucy), Missy Nahrgang (Greg), Kyle Little (Jennifer), Kristi Flowe (Josh), Amy Furr (Mark), Jason Honeycutt (Stephanie), Jonathon Jones, and Emily Jones, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
