YORK -- John "Jack" Boyce DeVinney, Sr., 85, of 1429 DeVinney Road passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at his home in York.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ed Jillson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 1 - 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York.
A native of York, Jack was the son of the late William Lindsay DeVinney and Margie Plaxco DeVinney. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, was retired from Celanese Corp., was a veteran of the US Army, and was a cattle farmer.
Jack is survived by wife Elna Pursley DeVinney of York, SC, son John DeVinney, Jr. (Erin) of Clover, SC, daughter Jane Guerry (Chip) of York, SC, sister Emily McCalister of York, SC, and grandchildren, LeGrand and Caroline Guerry, and Jack and Lindsay DeVinney.
