John Childress

John Ralph Childress, 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at White Oak Manor in York.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February, 4, 2017 at Bratton Funeral Home with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM on Saturday at Bratton Funeral Home.
Born February 7, 1933, John was a son of the late Mack Childress and Ruth Rollings Childress. He was a veteran of the US Army and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Shirley McKinney Childress, children, Wade Childress, Clint Childress (Pat), Deborah Gutierrez (Ron), brother Leonard Childress, sister Marie Doris, four grandchildren, Christy Premo (Chad), Ronnie Gutierrez (Lisa), Michael Gutierrez (Nikki), Brent Childress, and seven great grandchildren.
