Joanne Nivens YORK -- Joanne Green Nivens, 75, of 6471 Nivens Road died Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home in York. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Barry Lambert and Rev. James Gable officiating. The burial will be at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Bratton Funeral Home from 6 - 8 PM. Joanne was a daughter of the late Walter Green and Grace Alexander Green. She was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon. Joanne, along with her husband Bobby, ran Nivens Store in York for 18 years. She was also retired from York School District #1, where she drove the school bus for the handicapped children, whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her husband Bobby C. Nivens of York, SC, sisters, Louise Sheppard of York, Margaret Ramsey of York, Lynn Dowdey of Lexington, SC, brothers, Bob Green of York, Kenny Green of York, grandchildren, Karen Whitfield and Tonya Amick, and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her son Bobby C. Nivens, Jr. and sister, Betty Harper.
