YORK – Jean Beamguard McSwain, 94, of York passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Regional Healthcare Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC.
The graveside service will be at 2PM on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Reverend Tom McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends at Bratton Funeral Home from 1-2PM on Monday, May 21.
Born in Clover, SC, Jean was the daughter of the late Benjamin Beamguard and Sadie Jackson Beamguard. She was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church in Smyrna, SC.
Jean is survived by her son, David McSwain (Edie), daughter, Betty McSwain Squiggins (Tim), sister, Patsy Smart, grandchildren, Brad Costner, Meredith McSwain Long (Logan), Kirk McSwain, and step-grandchild, Kayla Squiggins.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Dector McSwain, son, Lamar McSwain, brother, David Beamguard, and sister, Sue Linker.
