Johnie Ben “J.B.” Spencer of Hickory Grove, SC passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with the Reverend Beth Drennen officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Helen and JB Spencer on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 10-4 PM.
Born in Hickory Grove, J.B. was the son of the late Ervin Spencer and Sallie Bullock Spencer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen McCarter Spencer, sons, Robert Spencer (Sonya) of Gastonia, Craig Spencer (Susan) of Smyrna, sister, Geraldine Hutcherson of Hickory Grove, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, J.B. was preceded in death by his son, Johnie Lee Spencer, sisters; Bernice Ramsery (J.P.), Dorothy Ramsey (Brice), Annese McDaniel (Guy), Eula Ramsey (David), and brother, James Spencer.
J.B. will be truly missed by his many friends, family, and neighbors in Hickory Grove.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the many friends who have shown kindness through visits and remembrances through J.B.’s illness as well as the staff of Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.
