Janie Hickson

Janie Arlene Hickson, 56, born October 27, 1960, in Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was the daughter of Arlene Teigue. She was survived by her sons Jack Heavner and Joey Heavner, daughter-in-law Jodi Heavner, and grandchildren Jacob and Mikayla. She was also survived by her sisters Jerrie Brown and Joanie Teigue, brothers Dale Teigue and Alan Teigue, as well as, may nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Janie was dedicated to God and her family, loved her animals, along with her Carolina Panthers, Jeff Gordon, and Family Guy. She was a lover of music in which her favorite bands included AC/DC, Queen, and Johnny Cash.
The family will receive friends at Bratton Funeral Home in York, SC on Friday, May 26th, 2017 at 1pm with the service following at 2pm. The burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery following the service. The family would like to send a special thanks to the ALS clinic of Charlotte for all of their help and support throughout her fight.
