OBITUARY NOTICE

Janice Thomas
North Augusta – Janice Fortner Thomas “Girly”, 62, passed away August 27, 2014 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA, after a long battle with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Dempsey L. Fortner and mother Bette Galyan Fortner both of Cramerton, NC, brother Robert Fortner “Steve” of Cramerton and brother Michael Goyette of Gastonia, NC.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Thomas Brazell of York, paternal aunt Mary Fortner Hook of Bessemer City, NC, maternal aunt Rachel Galyan Black of Gastonia, maternal uncle Joe Galyan of Cramerton, four nephews, a niece, and numerous Fortner and Galyan cousins.
Janice was a member of McConnells First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 1 – 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
