YORK – James William Harris, 84, of York, SC passed away on Saturday, November 03, 2018 peacefully at his home.
The funeral service will be at 3PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Emmanuel Holiness Church in Clover with the Rev. Roy Lee Ivey and the Rev. Luther Powell officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Bratton Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
Born in York County, James was the son of the late Luther Harris and Sarah Head Harris. He was a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church and served six years in the US National Guard. He was married to Emma Lucille Nichols Harris for 60 years before she went home to be with the Lord.
He is survived by his children; Carl Thomas Harris (Linda), Linda Mae Harris Sexton, Dennis James Harris (Cheryl), Ronald Ray Harris (Amy), Judith Elaine Gibson, Debra Ann Williamson (Foy), twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Wayne Harris, and sister, Dollie Ivey.
