Jack King, Jr. CLOVER Archer "Jack" Cooper King, Jr., 83, of 2969 Hart Road died Monday, May 28, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in York with Pastors Brad Vassey and Larry Nunn officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Jack was a son of the late Archer Cooper King, Sr. and Lucile Holland King. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He worked for the Charlotte Observer for 38 years and was a supervisor in the Composing Department. He was active for four years in the Army Air Corps during the early 50s. He is survived by his wife Edith Broom King of Clover, three sons, Donald Easler of Anderson, SC, Tony Humphries of Fort Mill, SC, and Britt Humphries (Jennifer) of Rock Hill, SC, daughter, Toshua Smith (Chad) of Lowell, NC, three sisters, Martha Kiker of Charlotte, NC, Daisy Murphy of Wilmington, NC, and Jeanne Levinsohns of Sayville, NY, brother, Theodore King of Placida, FL, and grandchildren, Corey Humphries, Megan Humphries, Ashley Smith, Blake Humphries, Tony Humphries, Jr., Chase Smith, Cristie, Sam, Vickie, and Jack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Arsenault, and Johnnie Lee Moore.
