Irene Hensley Helms, 100, of York, SC passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Irene was born on March 1, 1921 in Murphy, NC. She was the daughter of the late Augustus Ross Hensley and Delphie Mae Palmer Hensley. She was a lifetime member of McConnells Baptist Church in McConnells, SC.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Nancy Wood, Roberta Helms, Theresa Hunter (Ronnie), sister, Jenelle Doss, grandchildren; Jason Wood (Phyllis), Eric Wood (Donna), Melea Boyd, and Jacob Helms, four step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John Perry Helms, brother, David Hensley, and sister, Pauline McDonald.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at McConnells Baptist Church in McConnells, S.C.
