HICKORY GROVE -- Holmes Alexander Roberts, 81, of Hickory Grove passed away Friday, April 07, 2017, at Mary Black Hospital in Gaffney.
The funeral will be at11:00 A.M. on Monday April 10, 2017 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Johnson, Rev. Tommy Hope, Rev. Ed Reynolds and Rev. Mark Dellinger officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Bratton Funeral Home on Sunday April 9, 2017, from 3-5 PM
A native of Hickory Grove, Holmes was a son of the late Adam Holmes Roberts and Agnes Maloney Roberts. Holmes was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Hickory Grove, and was retired from the Cherokee County Health Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Parker Roberts, two daughters, Barbara Duncan, (Joe) and Tracie Wilkerson, (Robbie), his four grandchildren, Adam Duncan, Aaron Duncan, Hanna Wilkerson and Taylor Wilkerson, special grandchildren, Sarah Beth Lemaster, Sara Mitchell, Jack Smarr and Eddie Mitchell, sister-in-law, Christeen Ferguson, adopted sisters, Alene Ashe, Lornette Fielder, Nadine Smith and Ila Johnson.
