Funeral Services for Mr. Henry Edward Spikes age 58, of East Dublin will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Valdosta Baptist Church. The Rev. Curtis Vincent will officiate and burial will follow in the Lovett Cemetery.
Mr. Henry Edward Spikes Sr. transitioned from this life on January 12, 2017 at the Serenity Hospice House in Dublin, Georgia.
Mr. Spikes was born May 3, 1958 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Mr. Eddie Mack Spikes and Mrs. Carrie Bell Gilbert Spikes. Henry was a devoted and dedicated employee for over thirty-three years at Fairview Park Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and grilling. Henry was a member of the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his sisters Lula Bell, Louise Carol, and Betty Sue Spikes and brother Rickey Lee Spikes. Paternal grandparents Fred and Annie Estella Spikes, maternal grandparents Louise T. Gilbert and Charlie and Myrtice Gilbert.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories (children) Teresa Thomas Butler (Terrence), Henry Edward Spikes Jr., Martin Spikes, Whitney Spikes, Palmist Spikes, Zechariah Green, stepchildren Joel Blue and Lawrence Darden, former companion, Glenis Blue and former daughter-in-law Wanda Spikes.
Sisters: May Rose Spikes, Youngstown, Ohio, Diana Spikes Barkley, Deborah Spikes, Shannon Spikes, Dorothy Wesley (Lamar) and Linda Davis. brothers: Freddie Spikes, Meridian, CT, Thomas J. Spikes, and Gary J. (Ollie) Spikes, Harrison, Georgia.
aunts, Eveline Guyton, Ft Myers, Fl., Dorothy Nell Knight and Darsey Jean (Amos) Howell Lyons, Ga., Rosie L. (Tommie) Montford, Dublin, Ga., Vera Gilbert and Blanche Gilbert East Dublin, Ga., uncles, Lewis (Linda) Spikes, Roosevelt Spikes, Tampa, Fl., Charles Jr. (Angel) Gilbert, and Willie (Pearline) Gilbert, Dublin, Ga. Special devoted friend and uncle Willie (Lula) Mack.
Mr. Spikes will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. Friends are being received at the family residence,
