YORK -- H.G. "Bird" Thomasson, 77, of 824 Daves Road passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at his home in York.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Ebenezer A.R.P. Church Cemetery in Rock Hill with Rev. Roger Shuford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
Mr. Thomasson was a son of the late James Thomasson and Elizabeth Bigger Thomasson. He was a member of the S.C. National Guard and was retired from Duke Energy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Pat King Thomasson, sons; Shawn Thomasson (Penny) of York, SC, Gregg Thomasson (Mary) of York, SC, and Walter Thomasson (Danielle) of York, SC, grandchildren; Nicole Thomasson Childers (Scott), Jamie Thomasson, Brandi Thomasson Ramsey (Derrick) J.T. Thomasson, Kaicee Thomasson, all of York, Megan Thomasson Sutton (Travis) of Moncks Corner, SC, step grandchild, Phillip Skorupski (Brittiney) of Charlotte, NC, great grandchildren; Isabelle Ramsey, Finley Ramsey, Liam Childers, Sara Katherine Childers, Miles Sutton, Ellie Sutton, Alex Thomasson, and sisters; Jean Austin of Newport, and Ferrie Ward of Columbia. In addition to his parents, H.G. was preceded in death by sister Margaret Foster of Rock Hill.
