Obituary Notice Harmon Merritt YORK -- Harmon Monroe Merritt, 74, of 206 Springdale Drive passed away Wednesday, February 06, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday February 9, 2013, at York Church of God, with Revs. Jason Garner and James Garner officiating. Visitation will be at York Church Of God, from 12 Noon-2:00 PM, Saturday February 9, 2013. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. A native of York, Harmon was a son of the late Oscar and Della Ramsey Merritt. He was the widower of Bernice Bolin Merritt. Harmon was a member of York Church Of God, York Lions Club, and The Gideons. Harmon was a member of the York City Council and the South Carolina National Guard. He is survived by his son and his wife, Kenneth Merritt and Billie Ann of York, and two daughters, Donna Fisher, Patricia Dover both of York, and three sisters, Janice Ramsey, Emily Mobley of York and Dixie Deal of Clover, nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Greene, brother, Everett Merritt and sister, Sylvia Henderson.
