Glendell "Mack" Marker

Mack (Glendell McCullough) Marker, formerly of the Fayette County, PA area, passed away peacefully in his sleep while surrounded by loved ones on August 15, 2017 in York, SC after a full life of nearly 101 years.
He was the 1st born of Martha (Kunkle) and Jesse Marker in 1916 in Farmington, PA and became the oldest of 14 children.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Glendell M. Marker II in 1960, 2 wives; Arlene Reese Marker, and Gladys Rankin Marker, 6 siblings- Jesse Elmer, Wilmer Marker, Alice Marker Alatolo, John Marker and 2 infant sisters.
He is survived by 7 brothers and sisters; George Marker, Dorothy Marker Shimko, James Marker, Wanetta Marker Hagerty, Albert Marker, Arlene Marker Stroud, Earl Marker, a large loving family and many friends.
After graduating from Ohioplye High School at the age of 16 and the top of his class, Mack served during WWII in the United States Army and then worked as a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers until he retired. He enjoyed making music-especially with his family, and played many instruments. He loved to travel and did so often- even residing in many different states.
He enjoyed life and approached each day as a new adventure. His vivid memories of his long and interesting life were inspiring to all who were lucky enough to hear them.
He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, August 28 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, 132 Twin Hills Rd. Brier Hill, PA 15415.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to Moped to Memphis for St. Jude Hospital, Clover High School, 1625 State Hwy 55 East, Clover, SC 29710.
