Remembering Glayds
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Wright will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3 P. M. at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Dudley, Ga. Reverend Winfred McCloud will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gladys Wright was born on December 31, 1921 in Laurens County to the parentage of the late Will and Claudia Stephens. She was reared by the late Georgia Pullins. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age. She loved her church and was a faithful lifetime member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In her free time, Gladys loved to cook, knit, care for her flowers, and spend time with her family. She was a retired homemaker. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Gladys died peacefully at Serenity Hospice House on January 8, 2018 at the age of 96.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Flanders Wright; children, Sheldine Wright and John L. Wright; brother, McGrath Stephens; grandson, Kenneth Guyton; son-in-law, Roy Lee Guyton and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Wright.
Gladys leaves to cherish her memories six children, Bobbie Guyton, Indianapolis, Indiana; Betty (Walter) Thomas and Kathleen Coney of Detroit, Michigan; Annie (Prentice) Pauldo, Edna (Willie) Pauldo, and Jestine (Charlie) Evans, of Dublin, Georgia; a devoted cousin, Jessie “Sister” Blackshear of Jacksonville, Florida; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wright will be placed in the church one hour prior to her services. The family is receiving visitors at the home of her daughter, Edna Pauldo, 110 Cascade Circle, Dublin, Ga. Arrangements entrusted to Wyche’s Funeral Home (www.wychesfuneralhomeinc.com)
