GASTONIA -- Gilbert Lee Penley, 87, of Gastonia passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 18, 2015, in Charlotte.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Adnah U.M.C. Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC with Rev. Thomas McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Bratton Funeral Home in York from 1 - 2 PM.
Gilbert was a son of the late Fred and Ida Davis Penley. He was a retired textile supervisor. He will be remembered by the family that loved him as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Cornelia Burton Penley.
