Gerald Kemp, Jr.

Gerald H. Kemp, Jr. 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 12, 2017 from 6-8PM at the home of Jerry and Cristi Kemp, 706 Sagrada Dr. York, SC 29745 and on Saturday, January 13, 2017 from 3-5PM at Bratton Funeral Home.
Born in Mercersburg, PA, Gerald was the son of the late Gerald H. Kemp, Sr. and Ameila Hummer Kemp. He attended the University of Alabama in 1953 of which he has been a loyal fan ever since. He served as the Athletic Director at Johnson and Wales Culinary School of Charleston and was a Regional Director for Mended Hearts.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Lillian Ruddle Kemp of York, sons, Gerald H. Kemp. III (Cristi) of York, Robert L. Kemp (Lisa) of Goose Creek, Mark D. Kemp (Angie) of Summerville, Matthew A. Kemp (Angi) of Mt. Pleasant, sisters, Louis Drury, Pat Houser, nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Brian Scott Kemp, and brother, Neil Kemp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mended Hearts Chapter 289 of Rock Hill at 222 South Herlong Ave. Rock Hill, SC 29732 and to any other charity of one’s choice.
