Georgia Mae Godfrey

Home-going services for Georgia Mae Godfrey will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Byrd Hill Baptist Church at 1:00 P. M. The Rev. Warren Harris will officiate and burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Godfrey was born September 23, 1936 to the late George and Bernice B. Knight. God called his angel home on May 14, 2018. Mrs. Godfrey joined the Byrd Hill Baptist Church at an early age in which she was a devoted member until her health would no longer permit. She was a devout visitor to the Rose Hill Baptist Church as well. She truly will be missed. Mrs. Godfrey was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Godfrey, Sr. and her brothers Harvey Knight, Otis Knight, Thomas Knight, Albert Knight and Alton Knight. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Bernice O’neal, Rev. Carlton Godfrey, Jr., (Bernice), Walter Godfrey (Sandra), Louise Godfrey, Darryl Godfrey and Ricky Godfrey, her sister, Mable Pryor, her bother, James Knight, sisters-in-law, Mary Knight, Essie Knight, Laverne Knight, Linda Knight, Doretha Carswell and Arcenia Watkins, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
