George Meek

YORK - George Lindsay Meek, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.
A graveside service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Emily Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5-7pm at 211 Simrill Ave. York, SC 29745.
Born in York, SC, Mr. Meek was a son of the late George William Meek and Mary Gardner Meek. He retired from the York County Sheriff Department and continued to serve York County as a Special Investigator for the solicitor’s office until his retirement in 1996.
Mr. Meek is survived by his daughter, Susanne Meek Henson and husband Joe, son, Ken Meek and wife Cindy, five grandchildren, Lindsay Henson (Erin), Hayley Dover (Wes), Lani Robbins (Justin), Zack Meek and Kyle Meek, five great grandchildren, Anna Kate, Maddox and Miller Dover, Henson and Brynn Robbins, twin brother James Meek of Greer, SC, and brother Max Meek of Chester, SC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Meek was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Margie Montgomery Meek, brother, Phillip Meek, and sister, Margie Meek Clark.
