Founded in 1955 by Darwin Gilmartin, the funeral home has been led by two successive Simmons School of Mortuary Science graduates from the family, with current managing funeral director TJ Woodward maintaining continuity after the 2023 transition to new ownership.

Owner LaVern C. Falcone served 22 years as a Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy and was elected to one term as Genesee County Coroner before opening this funeral home in 2012, now operated as a family business with his daughter, also a licensed funeral director.
