Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home traces its roots to 1866 as Breslin Furniture & Undertakers and has remained locally owned and operated for over 150 years, making it a historic fixture in the Selma community.

Founded in 1977 by James 'Tokey' Cummings, Sr., who named the business in memory of his deceased brother Errol Gardner Cummings. The funeral home transitioned to a second-generation family operation under his son Tommy Cummings and has continued operating since Tokey's death in 2000.

Peck Funeral Home was established in 1929 when James Elliotte Peck converted a furniture and hardware store into a funeral home, and remains family-owned nearly a century later. The funeral home supports The Cross of North Alabama, a notable community initiative overlooking Morgan County.
