Wilkerson Funeral Home has served De Queen and Sevier County since at least the 1940s, when Fred "B. Bud" Wilkerson Jr. began working with his father. B. Bud, a World War II Navy veteran and 1947 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, earned Arkansas Funeral Director of the Year during his decades of service.
The business is now under fourth-generation ownership. Sarah Wilkerson Casteel, a licensed funeral director and Certified Pre-Planning Consultant, took over operations in 2018 alongside her husband Doug. Her father Trey Wilkerson, a 1975 Dallas Institute graduate who ran the funeral home for many years, remains active in the business following his retirement.
Sarah serves as a member of De Queen Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow. The funeral home offers pre-planning programs and provides services for both burial and cremation.
