Walker Mortuary was established in 1961 when Robert M. Walker purchased his first funeral home in Coalville. The family built a second facility in Morgan in 1967, and the two locations continue to operate together as Walker Mortuary of Morgan and Coalville.
Mark L. Walker, a licensed funeral director who graduated from Cypress College of Mortuary Science in California, joined his father in 1982 and worked alongside him until Robert's passing in 1997. Mark and his wife Janene continued managing the business together for many years.
The mortuary is now owned and operated by third-generation funeral director Landon M. Walker, who graduated from mortuary school in Mesa, Arizona in 2009 and received the Mu Sigma Alpha award for ranking in the top one percent of his class. Landon purchased the business in 2019 and operates it with his wife Timorie, maintaining the family's commitment to small-town personal service across northern Utah's mountain communities.
