Wakeman Funeral Home was originally established as the Gugel Funeral Home in 1911, making it the oldest funeral home in the City of Saginaw. The business has operated continuously for over a century under various names before becoming Wakeman Funeral Home.
The funeral home honors the legacy of Harold Wakeman, a respected funeral director in the Saginaw community who passed away in 2008. His family established the Harold and Judy Wakeman Scholarship to continue his tradition of service. The funeral home moved from its former building, which served families from 1938 to 1985, to its current facility.
