The building that houses Townsend Funeral Home has been home to the funeral profession since the early 1930s. The funeral home was purchased in the early 1970s from the Tapp Family and renamed to reflect the Townsend family ownership, which has continued for over 40 years.

Connie Townsend and Chad Townsend currently own and operate the family business. The facility was expanded in the early 1990s and has been recently remodeled and updated to better serve families in Dixon and Webster County.

The funeral home offers traditional burial services, cremation options, and live streaming for family and friends who cannot attend in person. Personalization options include tribute videos and keepsakes to help families create meaningful services.
