Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. was founded in 1936 by Kenneth R. and Margaret J. Thomas and has been in continuous operation at its current 700 Locust Street location since 1941. Following the founders' passing, ownership transferred to their sons Kenneth R. Thomas, Jr. and John W. Thomas, with John becoming sole owner in 2003 after Kenny Jr.'s retirement.

The facility has undergone multiple expansions over the decades, including a 10,000 square foot addition in 1969 for additional seating and visitation space, a new preparation room in 1991, and handicapped accessibility features added in 1993. The funeral home maintains a Victorian, home-like atmosphere following a complete redecoration of the downstairs area in 2005. Brian K. Burton currently serves as co-owner and supervising mortician.

Thomas Funeral Home has offered pre-need arrangements since 1974 and has been involved in monument and marker sales since 1963.
