Terry Funeral Home has operated in Philadelphia since 1938, when founder Paul S. Terry, Sr. moved the business from its original Pleasantville, NJ location. The firm has remained family-run across four generations, with Francis E. Terry joining as partner in 1947, followed by sons Paul S. Terry, Jr. and Thompson T. Terry, Sr., both trained at Lincoln University and Penn State respectively before entering the business.
Several area funeral directors trained under the Terry brothers before opening their own firms, reflecting the home's long standing role in Philadelphia's funeral service community.
