Ron and Sharon Sturm founded Sturm Funeral Home in 1978 with the purchase of the Hoyt Funeral Home locations in Springfield and Comfrey. Over the following years, the family expanded through several acquisitions, including the Jensen-Koop Funeral Home in Springfield in 1981, the Clow Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye in 1982, and a partnership to build a location in St. James in 1990.
The funeral home serves families throughout Brown County and the surrounding area, including Springfield, Sleepy Eye, Lamberton, St. James, Mountain Lake, and Madelia. Services include traditional funerals, cremation with various memorial options, tribute videos, and live-streaming capabilities for distant family and friends.
