About Strawbridge Memorial Chapel
Strawbridge Memorial Chapel was established in 2008 by Stephanie Strawbridge and family members Roberta and Barbara, becoming the first funeral home in the City of Cleveland founded by an African American woman. The business began after the family secured their location at East 116th Street and worked through the fall of 2008 to open their doors.
The funeral home offers daily grief support email programs and a 52-week bereavement newsletter designed to help families navigate the year following a loss. Online arrangements are available 24 hours a day, and the funeral home provides pre-planning services for families who wish to make decisions in advance.
