Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home was established in 1950 and moved to its current facility at 206 5th Avenue in February 1998. The funeral home features a 300-seat chapel, spacious visitation rooms, and expanded parking facilities, making it one of the largest funeral chapels in the area.
The business was originally operated by Stokes and Southerland as partners until David Stokes died in 1968. Warren Southerland Sr. continued as sole proprietor until 1978, when he formed a partnership with his son Warren Southerland Jr. After Warren Sr. retired in 1989, Warren Jr. operated the funeral home until his death in January 2012. Warren Southerland III now continues the family legacy alongside the funeral home's staff.
Stokes-Southerland serves families throughout Eastman, Dodge County, and Middle Georgia. The funeral home offers pre-planning services and has maintained continuous operation under the same name for over 70 years.
