Stanley Edenburn Funeral Home has served Pleasant Hill since 1934, making it the oldest funeral home in the city. Dr. Allen Brownfield, DDS, founded the business by purchasing the Green Mansion and converting it into a funeral home. Raymond and Lillian Stanley acquired the funeral home in 1954, and it remained with the Stanley family through two generations until September 2006.
The Dickey family of Harrisonville and Garden City purchased the funeral home in 2006. Jerald and Sonja Dickey, along with Bill and Wilma Dickey, brought more than 60 years of funeral service experience to the operation. John Edenburn manages the funeral home and grew up in Pleasant Hill.
The funeral home serves Pleasant Hill, Greenwood, Lone Jack, Kingsville, and surrounding areas. Services include traditional funerals, graveside services, memorial services, cremation, and monument sales. The funeral home offers a pre-arrangement program that allows families to document service instructions or pre-pay for selected services.
