The funeral home operates from a historic brick building constructed in 1856 as a banker's residence, later known as "The Brass Belle" boarding house. Gatewood and Pearl Beazley purchased the property in 1941 and converted it into a funeral home, which Pearl Beazley operated for 45 years until her retirement in 1985.
The Spurlin family acquired the building from the Beazley heirs in 1998, renovated the historic structure, and added a spacious chapel before reopening in January 1999. The funeral home has been serving families in Stanford and Lincoln County for over two decades under local family ownership.
