Solie Funeral Home and Crematory opened in 1940 when Lloyd Solie and his father H.J. Solie, an Everett pioneer and Norwegian immigrant, built the funeral home at 3301 Colby Avenue with architects Alvin Erickson and Howard Tollefson. Lloyd Solie became business partners with Paul Lorentzen in 1974, and following Lloyd's death in 1996 and Paul's in 1999, the Solie family continues to operate the business through the second generation.
The funeral home has served Everett and surrounding Snohomish County communities for over 80 years and remains the only family-owned and operated funeral home in Everett. The facility includes an on-site crematory and offers witness cremation services where family and friends may be present during the cremation process.
