About Shipps Funeral Home
Shipp's Funeral Home was founded in 1972 by James Edward Shipp, a licensed funeral director who opened the Ashburn location after working as an apprentice under his uncle Curtis Shipp at the former Shepard's Funeral Home in Sylvester. The business has operated as a family enterprise for over three generations, with James' son James Eldric Shipp joining as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. In 1998, the family expanded to open a second location in Sylvester.
The funeral home serves families throughout Turner County and surrounding areas. Services include traditional and personalized funerals, cremation, domestic and international shipping, funeral program design and printing, special limousine and transport services, and pre-planning arrangements. The business also offers notary public services.
