Carlton Fraze and his wife Dee established Fraze Funeral Home in 1967, the same decade Lake Havasu City was founded. Walter and Donna Lietz opened Lietz Funeral Home in 1976 after relocating from Phoenix, and the two families merged in 1981 to form Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory. The firm has operated the only on-site crematory in Lake Havasu City since 1986.
A 4,600 square foot facility expansion was completed in 1996 with a 33,000 square foot parking lot, followed by a 1,200 square foot crematorium addition in 1998. The funeral home added an on-site pet crematory in 2004. Lietz-Fraze also maintains a location serving families in Kingman.
