Sego Funeral Home originated in the early 1930s when most services were held in private homes. Charles R. Sego joined the staff after returning from World War II and became sole owner in the 1950s. In 1960, he added the facility's first chapel to better serve Hart County families.

In 2017, the funeral home expanded by purchasing the adjacent property from a retiring law practice. Construction was completed that summer on an additional chapel with seating for 150 people, giving the funeral home two chapels to accommodate services of varying sizes in Munfordville.
