Piedmont Funeral Home was founded in 1913 by Edgar A. Timberlake, John T. Lowe, Dell A. Watson, and F.P. Lopp, initially operating at 111 N. Main Street in conjunction with Piedmont Furniture Company. Casper H. Timberlake joined the firm in 1925, followed by Charles F. Craver in 1935, who together operated the business for more than fifty years after Edgar Timberlake's death in 1939. The funeral home moved to its current location in 1947, where a chapel was later added to the facilities.
For over 100 years, the funeral home has served Lexington and the surrounding Davidson County area. The business is now locally owned and operates an on-site crematory. Service options include traditional funerals, cremation with various memorial arrangements, and personalized celebrations of life, with pre-planning programs available for families who wish to arrange services in advance.
