The operation passed through four generations of family leadership—from Lou to his son Clayton "Pat" Crosby, then to Pat's son Jim Crosby, who expanded the business by purchasing the Kostal Funeral Home in Wagner. Jim Jaeger joined in 1977, and in 1990, Chad Peters began his career with the then-named Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home before purchasing the business with his wife Lisa in May 2018.
The funeral home now operates three locations serving Charles Mix and Bon Homme counties: Wagner, Avon, and Springfield. During the Jim Crosby era, the business also served as the community ambulance provider. Today, Peters Funeral Homes offers both burial and cremation services, with options ranging from full-service funerals to private family gatherings, along with tribute videos, keepsakes, and live streaming for remote attendees.
