About Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care
Panebaker Funeral Home occupies a building constructed in 1853 as a private residence, converted into a funeral home by Paul W. and Geraldine P. Panebaker in 1953 and opened for service in 1954. Ownership passed to Craig and Renate Johnston in 1986, who ran the business for more than two decades before transferring it to Michael and Kristin Newman, the current owners.
The funeral home operates alongside its affiliated Cremation Care Center and Loyal Companion Pet Cremation, Inc., giving families in Hanover, Parkville, and McSherrystown separate options for traditional funeral services, cremation, and pet cremation. A husband-and-wife team continues to work directly with families through the arrangement process, a model the Newmans have carried forward from previous ownership.
Serving York County communities including Dover, East Berlin, Littlestown, and Glen Rock, the funeral home offers burial and cremation planning, online memorial pages, and pre-planning arrangements.
