Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home was established in December 2011 under the ownership of Gary R. Newcomb and Barbara Blake Collins, both Maryland licensed morticians and funeral directors. The funeral home at 308 High Street has operated continuously at the same location since 1930, making it the oldest funeral service provider in Dorchester County to maintain uninterrupted service at its original site. The business began as the family-run LeCompte Funeral Home before being sold to Raymond J. Curran and his wife Virginia in 1974, who renamed it Curran Funeral Home. Their daughter, Colleen Curran-Bromwell, joined as a Maryland licensed mortician in 1985 and later assumed ownership in 2002.
