About New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home
New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens was established in 1994 as an independently owned business serving Jefferson, Walker, Blount, and Cullman counties. The funeral home is staffed by local residents with decades of experience in the area.
Manager William Sparkman is a licensed funeral director and embalmer with 38 years in the funeral industry and a degree in Mortuary Science from Jefferson State College. He has been with New Horizon since 1998 and is a 30-year Master Mason with Acacia Lodge 670 F&AM in West Jefferson. Amy Steltenpohl also serves as a funeral director at the facility.
The funeral home provides veteran services and handles all details for securing military benefits. Staff members are active in the Dora community, including serving as ministry directors at New Life Christian Assembly and as the radio voice of Dora Bulldogs football for over two decades.
